George has worked as an investment advisor in Portland for more than 45 years. He specializes in building long-term portfolios for clients and managing them through a variety of market conditions. George earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in 1974 and holds an MBA from Portland State University.
At the Scherzer Roarke Group, George provides direction and oversight around all investment decisions to ensure they fit with the team’s philosophy, which emphasizes discipline and quality. He also offers clear, practical advice for the unique financial challenges each client faces.
George served on the Multnomah County investment advisory board from 1984 to 2017. He is the past president of the Oregon Club of Portland and University of Oregon fundraiser of the year in 1996. George and his family are proud they established an endowment to benefit the library system of the University of Oregon.

Outside of work, you can find George at the MAC swimming laps and exercising early in the morning. George and his wife Cheryl live in Portland. They have two adult children and one beautiful granddaughter.
